- Strong image. This cannot be stressed enough. Pinterest is basically a board book for adults. Pretty images, flashy colors, striking visuals MUST convey your message from the get go. Be sure to use vertical images. Mobile devices are set-up for portrait view, rather than landscape. Try to create an image that encourages the user to scroll down.
- Include Relevant Keywords in your Pin (but not too many). This isn’t Google AdWords. Think about targeting interests in behaviors that are parallel to your sales pitch. Often times your Pin will be saved for later. (Did we mention they last FOREVER!)
- Direct users to a landing page. Don’t ask for information from the get-go. Remember, all they have seen is one visual example. Give them a chance to learn more, and THEN ask them if they would like to be contacted.
If your goal is to increase traffic to your website, look no further than Pinterest. Pinterest shares that about five percent of all website referral traffic comes from the site (second to only Facebook).
